Worcestershire Cricket Board

You will recall that some while ago the Board notified you that it was likely that no ECB subsidy would be available for candidates completing Level 1 or Level 2 coaching courses which commenced in the calendar year 2011. The Board had been notified at that time that it was highly unlikely funds would be forthcoming for that purpose.

I am pleased to inform you that the position has improved (albeit not to the previous level). Despite a 50% reduction in the amount allocated from the ECB it is now possible to pass on to Clubs a subsidy of £65 for each candidate upon certification (ie completion of all requirements of course). The Treasurer of the Worcestershire Cricket Coaches Association will be arranging to pass on the relevant amounts to Clubs where candidates attended and completed on courses already run in 2011.The same subsidy amount will be payable for courses running from September 2011 to December 2011. The position for courses commencing from January 2012 is not yet known. These subsidies are payable to Clubs not individuals and are only available to

1. Worcestershire Primary Affiliated Focus Clubs.
2. Worcestershire Affiliated Clubs with a junior section.
3. Worcestershire Primary Affiliated Clubs.

At the same time the Board has held meetings with the Hereford and Worcestershire Sports Partnership   and also the Black Country Consortium Ltd (for Clubs in the north of the County), and they confirmed they also have Bursaries available for cricket coaching courses which can be accessed by clubs in the relevant areas. These must be applied for in advance to the relevant Partnership.
