Spot Light on Kidderminster Cricket Clubs’ New Pavilion - As some of you may be aware Kidderminster Cricket Club applied and has received funding from ECB to build a new pavilion which commenced in November last year - below are pictures of the pavilion in the process of being built. Worcester Nomads 'B' who won the Worcestershire Cricket Board Indoor Competition 2009, played the Warwickshire winners, Olton and West Warwickshire at RGS on Sunday 21st February and won. Pictured left is Andy Leach captain of Worcester Nomads receiving the shield from Peter Stevens.

Nomads played in the regional finals at Edgbaston on Sunday 28th February and won the first game beating Norton in Hales CC frpm Shripshire by losing fewer wickets after both teams had scored 130. Sadly, they picked up two injuries in the game

In the final Godmanchester of Huntingdonshire were too strong for a plucky Nomads side and so Nomads finished 5th= in UK.

Salma Bi, one of the players from the Worcestershire Women's team has just won the outstanding achievement award at the British Asian Sports Awards more ....

 

Thea Brookes - Worcestershire Womens and Girls all rounder, has been selected to play for England Under 17s in South Africa March 2010. The Squad will compete in the Cape Town U19 Girls Cricket Tournamentagainst teams from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Thea, who bowls off-spin and is a hard hitting bat for her club Stourbridge, has been a part of the County's development programme for girls for three years and worked extremely hard to gain this recognition. Coach Trevor Ridings paid tribute to her dedication and hoped that other Worcestershire girls will be inspired by Thea's success.

Thea is being supported financially by the WCB as well as by fundraising efforts at Stourbridge CC.
