Tom Sky Sports Award

One of our community coaches, Tom Hill, has recently received an award for Young Coach of the Year. Tom attended a Rewards and Recognition day hosted by Sky Sports which was held up at Old Trafford, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club. Tom won the award on behalf of his hard work within schools in the West/Central District of Worcestershire, covering schools in Bewdley, Stourport, Kidderminster, Worcester and Droitwich. Tom's most notable work within the school environment has been in supporting Droitwich Cricket Club in the delivery of their Chance to Shine inititiative. This initiative sees Tom delivering in the Droitwich High cluster of schools where he has also set up a FUNdamentals section at the club, offering a quality exit route for new members wishing to start on their cricketing voyage.

In addition, Tom has also acted as Head Coach to the West/Central Worcestershire District teams at Under 11, 12 and 13 age levels developing and leading coaching programmes for the most talented young cricketers in the District. Helping them progress into the County squads.

In his spare time Tom also coaches the junior section at Bromsgrove Cricket Club where he also plays his cricket.

On the day Tom was treated to a coaching session with Peter Moores, former England coach and now currently with Lancashire CCC and Steve Seligman, North Performance Manager. Tom thoroughly enjoyed the day and was very pleased to receive the award.
