Planning is currently underway for the ‘Safehands Training for Club Welfare Officer’ workshop over this winter. This course is aimed at new CWO’s and Assistant CWO’s who have been appointed over the last year and are yet to attend the course. Those CWO’s who are in need of their 3 year refreshment of ‘Safehands’ need to attend the ‘Safehands Refresher’ workshop.
Worcestershire Cricket are keen to ensure that all CWO’s and Assistant CWO’s are up to date on their ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’ (SPC) course, again this needs to be done every 3 years. Please email Andy Wheeler and inform him if you are due to renew your SPC certificate, and if there are enough responses, Worcestershire Cricket will look to organise an SPC 2 Refresher course.
All young players who have not reached their 18th birthday must wear a helmet with a faceguard when
batting and when standing up to the stumps when keeping wicket. Parental consent not to wear a helmet should not be accepted in adult matches. A young player acting as a runner must also wear a helmet even if the player he is running for is not doing so.
